應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

我已经与基督一同被钉在十字架上，现在活着的不再是我，而是基督活在我里面。我现在是靠信上帝的儿子而活着，祂爱我，为我舍命。

至于我自己，我绝不夸耀别的，只夸耀我们主耶稣基督的十字架。因为对我来说，世上的一切都已经被钉在十字架上；对这世界来说，我已经被钉在十字架上。

那些属基督的人已经把罪恶的本性和本性里的邪情私欲都钉在十字架上了。

就应该与从前的生活方式一刀两断，脱去因私欲的迷惑而渐渐败坏的旧人，

耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，所有犯罪的人都是罪的奴隶。奴隶不能永远留在主人的家里，只有儿子才可以。所以，如果上帝的儿子释放了你们，你们就真正自由了！

所以，你们要治死身上属世的罪恶，如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像，

不要彼此说谎，因为你们已经脱去了旧人和旧的行为，穿上了新人。这新人在知识上不断更新，更像他的造物主。

你们若随从罪恶本性活着，必定死亡；但若靠着圣灵除去身体的恶行，就必活着。

但现在你们已从罪中得到释放，做了上帝的奴仆，这样会使你们圣洁，最终得到永生。

我真是苦啊！谁能救我脱离这个被死亡控制的身体呢？感谢上帝，祂借着我们的主耶稣基督救了我！这样看来，我的内心服从上帝的律法，但我罪恶的本性却服从犯罪的律。

你们也在基督里受了非人手所行的割礼，是基督为除掉你们的罪恶本性而行的割礼。你们接受洗礼时已经与基督一同埋葬了，并借着相信上帝使基督从死里复活的大能，与基督一同复活了。

律法因为人性软弱而无法成就的事，上帝亲自成就了。祂差遣自己的儿子成为和罪人一样有血有肉的人，作了赎罪祭，废掉了罪的权势，使律法公义的要求实现在我们这些不随从罪恶本性，只随从圣灵而活的人身上。

我们的上帝耶和华啊！在你以外曾有别的主人管辖我们，但我们只尊崇你的名。

所以，不要让罪辖制你们必死的身体，使你们顺从身体的私欲；

乃缦说：“如果你不肯接受礼物，请你容许仆人用两头骡子驮些泥土回去。从此以后，我不再献燔祭或平安祭给其他神明，只献给耶和华。
