We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

By being baptized, we were buried with Christ into his death. Christ has been raised from the dead by the Father’s glory. And like Christ we also can live a new life.

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image– in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth.

And this prefigured baptism, which now saves you– not the washing off of physical dirt but the pledge of a good conscience to God– through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

We know that since Christ has been raised from the dead, he is never going to die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

Through these things he has bestowed on us his precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire.For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge;to knowledge, self- control; to self- control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness;to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love.For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately.But concerning the one who lacks such things– he is blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins.

Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

For indeed he was crucified by reason of weakness, but he lives because of God’s power. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him, because of God’s power toward you.

For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation!And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God.

Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.

So, since Christ suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin,in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.

Now God indeed raised the Lord and he will raise us by his power.

Jesus responded,“ Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”

Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy.Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.

In him you also were circumcised– not, however, with a circumcision performed by human hands, but by the removal of the fleshly body, that is, through the circumcision done by Christ.Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your faith in the power of God who raised him from the dead.And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions.

So I say this, and insist in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Be imitators of me, brothers and sisters, and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.For many live, about whom I have often told you, and now, with tears, I tell you that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.

But God raised him up, having released him from the pains of death, because it was not possible for him to be held in its power.

( I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

Masters, treat your slaves with justice and fairness, because you know that you also have a master in heaven.

Jesus replied,“ Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”Then the Jewish leaders said to him,“ This temple has been under construction for forty- six years, and are you going to raise it up in three days?”

For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, have not ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,so that you may live worthily of the Lord and please him in all respects– bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God,being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfullygiving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, in Cana of Galilee. In this way he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength.This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms

Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice– alive, holy, and pleasing to God– which is your reasonable service.Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God– what is good and well- pleasing and perfect.

for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light–

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you are saved!–and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
