I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever- increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness.

Because you are human, you find this hard to understand. So I am using an everyday example to help you understand. You used to give yourselves to be slaves to unclean living. You were becoming more and more evil. Now give yourselves to be slaves to right living. Then you will become holy.

I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

我且照着人的见解来说，我们的不义若彰显神的义，我们可以说什么呢？难道降怒的神是不义的吗？

也不要把你们的肢体献给罪，作不义的用具；倒要像出死得生的人，把自己献给神，并且把你们的肢体献给神作义的用具。

弟兄们，我照着人的常理说：一个立好了的约，虽然是人所立的，却没有人可以废弃或增加。

你们有些人从前也是这样的，但现在藉着我们主耶稣基督的名，靠着我们神的灵，都已经洗净了，圣洁了，称义了。

所以要治死你们在地上的肢体，就如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像。因着这些事，神的忿怒必要临到悖逆的人（有些抄本无“悖逆的人”）。你们从前在其中生活的时候，也曾经这样行过。

好叫你们不再随从人的私欲，只顺从神的旨意，在世上度余下的光阴。因为你们过去随从教外人的心意，行邪淫、私欲、醉酒、荒宴、狂饮和可憎拜偶像的事，时候已经够了。他们见你们不再与他们同奔那纵情放荡的路，就觉得奇怪，毁谤你们。

那时你们在过犯和罪恶中行事为人，随着时代的潮流，也服从空中掌权的首领，就是现今在悖逆的人身上运行的灵。我们从前也都和他们在一起，放纵肉体的私欲，随着肉体和心意所喜好的去行；我们与别人一样，生来都是可怒的儿女。

难道你们不知道你们自愿作奴仆去顺从人，顺从谁就作谁的奴仆，或作罪的奴仆以致于死，或作顺从的奴仆以致于义吗？感谢神，你们虽然作过罪的奴仆，现在却从心里顺从了传授给你们的教义的规范。

照样，圣灵也在我们的软弱上帮助我们。原来我们不晓得应当怎样祷告，但圣灵亲自用不可言喻的叹息，替我们祈求。

你们要小心，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有苦根长起来缠绕你们，因而污染了许多人；

总要远避世俗的空谈，因为这些必会引人进到更不敬虔的地步。他们的话好像毒瘤一样蔓延；他们当中有许米乃和腓理徒。

你们这样自夸是不好的。你们不知道一点面酵能使全团面发起来吗？

因为我们的大祭司并不是不能同情我们的软弱，他像我们一样，也曾在各方面受过试探，只是他没有犯罪。

我们坚强的人，应该担当不坚强的人的软弱，不应该求自己的喜悦。

我说这话，不是照着人的意见，律法不也是这样说吗？

我在以弗所和野兽搏斗，如果照着人的意思来看，那对我有什么益处呢？如果死人不会复活，“我们就吃吃喝喝吧，因为我们明天就要死了。”你们不要自欺，“滥交朋友是会败坏品德的。”
