At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone deserted me. I remember this as I pour out my heart: how I walked with many, leading the festive procession to the house of God, with joyful and thankful shouts.Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Be strong and courageous, for the Lord will do this to all the enemies you fight.”

He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our comfort also overflows.If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is experienced in your endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.

But I will hope continually and will praise You more and more.

When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.Though an army deploys against me, my heart is not afraid; though a war breaks out against me, still I am confident.

Even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me. For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures.
