Then why is there the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

For the law produces wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—

Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

He will tread our iniquities under foot; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

You also bear your own shame yourself, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous than you. Yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols.I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.You will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. You will be my people, and I will be your God.I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.“‘“ Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.I don’t do this for your sake,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ Let it be known to you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, house of Israel.”

But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away,won’t service of the Spirit be with much more glory?For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved,in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.Some of you were such, but you were washed. I will take one of you from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying,“ If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”But the other answered, and rebuking him said,“ Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”He said to Jesus,“ Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”Jesus said to him,“ Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

although I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.

Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than did the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.Yahweh spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they didn’t listen.Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.
