夫罪緣一人之身、而侵入斯世；罪之所至、死則隨之；人皆有罪、亦皆有死。

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

既然死是因一人而来，死人复活也因一人而来。在亚当里众人都死了；同样，在基督里众人也都要复活。

因一人的悖逆，众人成为罪人；照样，因一人的顺从，众人也成为义了。

因为罪的工价乃是死；惟有上帝的恩赐，在我们的主基督耶稣里，乃是永生。

只是知善恶的树所出的，你不可吃，因为你吃它的日子必定死！”

因为世人都犯了罪，亏缺了上帝的荣耀，

私欲既怀了胎，就生出罪来；罪既长成，就生出死来。

你必汗流满面才有食物可吃，直到你归了土地，因为你是从土地而出的。你本是尘土，仍要归回尘土。”

看哪，我是在罪孽里生的，在我母亲怀胎的时候就有了罪。

所以，正如罪藉着死掌权；照样，恩典也藉着义掌权，使人因我们的主耶稣基督得永生。

于是女人见那棵树好作食物，又悦人的眼目，那树令人喜爱，能使人有智慧，她就摘下果子吃了，又给了与她一起的丈夫，他也吃了。

死亡和阴间也被扔进火湖里，这火湖就是第二次的死。凡名字没有记在生命册上的人，就被扔进火湖里。

看哪，所有的生命都是属我的；父亲的生命怎样属我，儿子的生命也照样属我；然而犯罪的，他必定死。

原来我们在许多事上都有过失；若有人在言语上没有过失，他就是完全的人，也能勒住自己的全身。

然而，从亚当到摩西，死就掌了权，连那些不与亚当犯一样罪过的，也在死的权下。亚当是那以后要来之人的预像。但是过犯不如恩赐，若因一人的过犯，众人都死了，那么，上帝的恩典，与那因耶稣基督一人而来的恩典中的赏赐，岂不加倍地临到众人吗？因一人犯罪而来的后果，也不如赏赐，原来审判是由一人而定罪，恩赐乃是由许多过犯而称义。若因一人的过犯，死就因这一人掌权，那些受洪恩又蒙所赐之义的，岂不更要因耶稣基督一人在他们生命中掌权吗？

耶和华上帝说：“看哪，那人已经像我们中间的一个，知道善恶，现在恐怕他又伸手摘生命树所出的来吃，就永远活着。”耶和华上帝就驱逐他出伊甸园，使他耕种土地，他原是从土地里被取出来的。耶和华上帝把那人赶出去，就在伊甸园东边安设基路伯和发出火焰转动的剑，把守生命树的道路。
