夫罪緣一人之身、而侵入斯世；罪之所至、死則隨之；人皆有罪、亦皆有死。

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

死既是因一人而来，死人复活也是因一人而来。在亚当里众人都死了；照样，在基督里众人也都要复活。

因为罪的工价乃是死；惟有神的恩赐，在我们的主基督耶稣里，乃是永生。

只是分别善恶树上的果子，你不可吃，因为你吃的日子必定死！”

你必汗流满面才得糊口，直到你归了土，因为你是从土而出的。你本是尘土，仍要归于尘土。”

我是在罪孽里生的，在我母亲怀胎的时候就有了罪。

就如罪作王叫人死；照样，恩典也藉着义作王，叫人因我们的主耶稣基督得永生。

于是女人见那棵树的果子好作食物，也悦人的眼目，且是可喜爱的，能使人有智慧，就摘下果子来吃了，又给她丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。

死亡和阴间也被扔在火湖里；这火湖就是第二次的死。若有人名字没记在生命册上，他就被扔在火湖里。

看哪，世人都是属我的；为父的怎样属我，为子的也照样属我；犯罪的，他必死亡。

原来我们在许多事上都有过失；若有人在话语上没有过失，他就是完全人，也能勒住自己的全身。

然而从亚当到摩西，死就作了王，连那些不与亚当犯一样罪过的，也在他的权下。亚当乃是那以后要来之人的预像。只是过犯不如恩赐，若因一人的过犯，众人都死了，何况神的恩典，与那因耶稣基督一人恩典中的赏赐，岂不更加倍地临到众人吗？因一人犯罪就定罪，也不如恩赐，原来审判是由一人而定罪，恩赐乃是由许多过犯而称义。若因一人的过犯，死就因这一人作了王，何况那些受洪恩又蒙所赐之义的，岂不更要因耶稣基督一人在生命中作王吗？

耶和华神说：“那人已经与我们相似，能知道善恶；现在恐怕他伸手又摘生命树的果子吃，就永远活着。”耶和华神便打发他出伊甸园去，耕种他所自出之土。于是把他赶出去了；又在伊甸园的东边安设基路伯和四面转动发火焰的剑，要把守生命树的道路。
