所以，正如罪是藉着一个人进入了世界，并且死是藉着罪进入的；这样，因为人人都犯了罪，死也就临到了所有的人。

这就如罪是从一人入了世界，死又是从罪来的，于是死就临到众人，因为众人都犯了罪。

为此，正如罪是从一人进入世界，死又从罪而来，于是死就临到所有的人，因为人人都犯了罪。

所以，正如罪是藉著一個人進入了世界，並且死是藉著罪進入的；這樣，因為人人都犯了罪，死也就臨到了所有的人。

是以罪由一人入世、因罪而有死、於是死延於眾、以皆獲罪也、

且以一人、在世有罪、因罪而死、於是人皆有罪、人皆有死、

是以自從罪由一人入世、死因罪而有、則死臨於眾人、以眾人犯罪、

夫罪緣一人之身、而侵入斯世；罪之所至、死則隨之；人皆有罪、亦皆有死。

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

因为死亡既然是由一个人而来，死人的复活也是由一个人而来。原来，就像在亚当里所有的人都死了，照样，在基督里所有的人也都将得以复活，

就是说，藉着一个人的悖逆，众人怎样都成了罪人；藉着一个人的顺从，众人将怎样成为义人。

因为罪的工价就是死；但神的恩赐，在我们的主基督耶稣里，却是永恒的生命。

只是分辨善恶树上的果实，你不可吃，因为在吃的日子，你必定死。”

要知道，每个人都犯了罪，亏缺了神的荣耀；

一旦欲望怀了胎，就生下罪来；罪长成了，就生出死亡。

你必汗流满面才有饭吃，直到你归回土地，因为你是从那里取出来的。你本是尘土，就要归回尘土。”

看哪，我在罪孽里出生；我母亲怀胎时，我就在罪中！

这样，就像罪藉着死亡掌权，恩典也照样藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永恒的生命。

女人见那棵树的果实作为食物很好，又悦人眼目，并且因使人有智慧而令人喜爱，就摘下果实吃了，还给了与她在一起的丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。

然后，死亡和阴间被丢进火湖里，这火湖就是第二次的死亡。凡是名字没有被记在生命册上的人，都被丢进了火湖里。

实际上，我们每一个人在很多事上都会跌倒。如果有人在言语上不跌倒，这个人就是一个成熟的人，也能够克制全身。

然而，从亚当到摩西，死亡掌了权，甚至那些没有按亚当过犯的样式犯罪的人，也在死的权下。这亚当是以后要来的那一位的象征。但是恩赐不同于过犯。原来，一个人的过犯尚且使众人都死了，何况神的恩典和耶稣基督一个人恩典里的赏赐，难道不更要丰丰富富地临到众人吗？而且，恩赐不同于由一个人犯罪而来的后果。因为，由一次过犯而来的审判虽然导致了定罪，但由很多过犯而来的恩赐却导致了称义。实际上，一个人的过犯尚且使死亡藉着这一个人掌了权，何况那些领受丰富之恩典和称义之赏赐的人，难道不更要藉着耶稣基督一个人，在生命里掌权吗？

耶和华神说：“看哪，那人已经与我们相似，知道善恶；现在恐怕他又伸出手，取生命树的果实来吃，那样他就会永远活着。”于是耶和华神就把他赶出伊甸园，去耕耘土地——他本是从那里取出来的。耶和华神驱逐了那人，又在伊甸园的东边安置了基路伯和四周旋转的火焰之剑，来看守通往生命树的道路。
