We have been made right with God because of our faith. Now we have peace with him because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Doing what is right will bring peace and rest. When my people do that, they will stay calm and trust in the Lord forever.

May the God who gives hope fill you with great joy. May you have perfect peace as you trust in him. May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.

When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life. That’s because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.

“ My friends, here is what I want you to know. I announce to you that your sins can be forgiven because of what Jesus has done.Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin. Moses’ law could not make you right in God’s eyes.

“ I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.”

God was pleased to bring all things back to himself. That’s because of what Christ has done. These things include everything on earth and in heaven. God made peace through Christ’s blood, by his death on the cross.

May the Lord who gives peace give you peace at all times and in every way. May the Lord be with all of you.

God’s kingdom is not about eating or drinking. It is about doing what is right and having peace and joy. All this comes through the Holy Spirit.

I leave my peace with you. I give my peace to you. I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be troubled. And do not be afraid.

But things are different with God. He makes ungodly people right with himself. If people trust in him, their faith is accepted even though they do not work. Their faith makes them right with God.

Let the peace that Christ gives rule in your hearts. As parts of one body, you were appointed to live in peace. And be thankful.

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel. It is the good news of peace through Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.

I will listen to what God the Lord says. He promises peace to his faithful people. But they must not turn to foolish ways.I know he’s ready to save those who have respect for him. Then his glory can be seen in our land.God’s truth and faithful love join together. His peace and holiness kiss each other.

Christ himself is our peace. He has made Jews and Gentiles into one group of people. He has destroyed the hatred that was like a wall between us.Through his body on the cross, Christ set aside the law with all its commands and rules. He planned to create one new people out of Jews and Gentiles. He wanted to make peace between them.He planned to bring both Jews and Gentiles back to God as one body. He planned to do this through the cross. On that cross, Christ put to death their hatred toward one another.He came and preached peace to you who were far away. He also preached peace to those who were near.

Then they will praise me. I will give perfect peace to those who are far away and those who are near. And I will heal them,” says the Lord.But those who are evil are like the rolling sea. It never rests. Its waves toss up mud and sand.“ There is no peace for those who are evil,” says my God.

“ Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”( Psalm 118:26)“ May there be peace and glory in the highest heaven!”

I am sending this letter to all of you in Rome. You are loved by God and appointed to be his holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

I want to be joined to him. Being right with God does not come from my obeying the law. It comes because I believe in Christ. It comes from God because of faith.

God is the God who gives peace. May he make you holy through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept free from blame. May you be without blame from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes.

I will teach all your children. And they will enjoy great peace.

May the God who gives peace be with you all. Amen.

So the enemies of my people should come to me for safety. They should make peace with me. I will say it again. They should make peace with me.”

“ When you enter a house, first say,‘ May this house be blessed with peace.’If someone there works to bring peace, your blessing of peace will rest on them. If not, it will return to you.

He said,“ I wish you had known today what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes.

All this is from God. He brought us back to himself through Christ’s death on the cross. And he has given us the task of bringing others back to him through Christ.God was bringing the world back to himself through Christ. He did not hold people’s sins against them. God has trusted us with the message that people may be brought back to him.So we are Christ’s official messengers. It is as if God were making his appeal through us. Here is what Christ wants us to beg you to do. Come back to God!

So one man’s sin brought guilt to all people. In the same way, one right act made people right with God. That one right act gave life to all people.

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. If you believe this, you will have life because you belong to him.

The good news shows God’s power to make people right with himself. God’s power to be made right with him is given to the person who has faith. It happens by faith from beginning to end. It is written,“ The one who is right with God will live by faith.”( Habakkuk 2:4)

The blood of Christ has made us right with God. So we are even more sure that Jesus will save us from God’s anger.Once we were God’s enemies. But we have been brought back to him because his Son has died for us. Now that God has brought us back, we are even more secure. We know that we will be saved because Christ lives.

“ My people, you will go out of Babylon with joy. You will be led out of it in peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song as you go. And all the trees in the fields will clap their hands.

With your heart you believe and are made right with God. With your mouth you say what you believe. And so you are saved.

That is what Scripture means where it says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6) And that’s not all. God called Abraham his friend.So you see that a person is considered right with God by what they do. It doesn’t happen only because they believe.Didn’t God consider even Rahab the prostitute to be right with him? That’s because of what she did for the spies. She gave them a place to stay. Then she sent them off in a different direction.A person’s body without their spirit is dead. In the same way, faith without good deeds is dead.

God did all this to prove in our own time that he does what is right. He also makes right with himself those who believe in Jesus.So who can brag? No one! Are people saved by the law that requires them to obey? Not at all! They are saved because of the law that requires faith.We firmly believe that a person is made right with God because of their faith. They are not saved by obeying the law.

That is what he will do. He will be dressed in majesty as if it were his royal robe. He will sit as king on his throne. He will also be a priest there. So he will combine the positions of king and priest in himself.’

They were written also for us. We believe in the God who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. So God will accept our faith and make us right with himself.Jesus was handed over to die for our sins. He was raised to life in order to make us right with God.

Our Lord Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep. The God who gives peace brought him back from the dead. He did it because of the blood of the eternal covenant. Now may God

“ May glory be given to God in the highest heaven! And may peace be given to those he is pleased with on earth!”

“ What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged. They have crossed over from death to life.

But now faith in Christ has come. So the law is no longer in charge of us.

He has done it to show the riches of his grace for all time to come. His grace can’t be compared with anything else. He has shown it by being kind to us. He was kind to us because of what Christ Jesus has done.

We are made right with God by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. This happens to all who believe. It is no different for the Jews than for the Gentiles.

There is only one God. When those who are circumcised believe in him, he makes them right with himself. Suppose those who are not circumcised believe in him. Then God also will make them right with himself.

Here is what we know. No one is made right with God by obeying the law. It is by believing in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus. This is so we can be made right with God by believing in Christ. We are not made right by obeying the law. That’s because no one can be made right with God by obeying the law.

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world. He sent his Son to save the world through him.Anyone who believes in him is not judged. But anyone who does not believe is judged already. They have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

“ The Babylonians are very proud. What they want is not good.“ But the person who is godly will live by his faithfulness.

And how can anyone preach without being sent? It is written,“ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”( Isaiah 52:7)

We know that no one who depends on the law is made right with God. This is because“ the one who is right with God will live by faith.”( Habakkuk 2:4)The law is not based on faith. In fact, it is just the opposite. It teaches that“ the person who does these things will live by them.”( Leviticus 18:5)Christ set us free from the curse of the law. He did it by becoming a curse for us. It is written,“ Everyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse.”( Deuteronomy 21:23)Christ Jesus set us free so that the blessing given to Abraham would come to the Gentiles through Christ. He did it so that we might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. The promised Spirit comes by believing in Christ.

What should we say then? Gentiles did not look for a way to be right with God. But they found it by having faith.

Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace.But we long to be made completely holy because of our faith in Christ. Through the Holy Spirit we wait for this in hope.Circumcision and uncircumcision aren’t worth anything to those who believe in Christ Jesus. The only thing that really counts is faith that shows itself through love.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Say,“ May those who love you be secure.

What do they care about the families they leave behind? What do they care about them when their lives come to an end?
