However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.

But things are different with God. He makes ungodly people right with himself. If people trust in him, their faith is accepted even though they do not work. Their faith makes them right with God.

And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.

But to the one who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness.

But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared,not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour;that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed.So then they that are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith;and the law is not of faith; but, He that doeth them shall live in them.Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a minister of sin? God forbid.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

but for our sake also, unto whom it shall be reckoned, who believe on him that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

For what saith the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.

Be it known unto you therefore, brethren, that through this man is proclaimed unto you remission of sins:and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:if so be that God is one, and he shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth;who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel.And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take the filthy garments from off him. though I was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: howbeit I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief;and the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief:

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods.
