其信甚篤、年近百歲、不顧己身已衰、亦不顧撒拉之胎已絕孕、

故雖明知己之將近百歲、精力枯竭、且明知灑蕾之久已絕孕；然信心未因此而稍衰、

Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead— since he was about a hundred years old— and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.

Abraham did not become weak in his faith. He accepted the fact that he was past the time when he could have children. At that time Abraham was about 100 years old. He also realized that Sarah was too old to have children.

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead( since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.

And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead— and so was Sarah’s womb.

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body to be already dead( since he was about a hundred years old) and also the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead( since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead( he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

He considered his own body to be already dead( since he was about 100 years old) and also considered the deadness of Sarah’s womb, without weakening in the faith.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:

Without being weak in faith, he considered his own body as dead( because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out,( he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

亞伯拉罕就臉伏於地竊笑，心裏想：「一百歲的人還能有孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生育嗎？」

因着信，撒拉自己已過了生育的年齡還能懷孕，因為她認為應許她的那位是可信的；所以，從一個彷彿已死的人竟生出子孫，如同天上的星那樣眾多，海邊的沙那樣無數。這些人都是存着信心死的，並沒有得着所應許的，卻從遠處觀望，且歡喜迎接。他們承認自己在地上是客旅，是寄居的。說這樣話的人是表明自己要尋找一個家鄉。他們若想念所離開的家鄉，還有回去的機會。其實他們所羨慕的是一個更美的，就是在天上的家鄉。所以，上帝並不因他們稱他為上帝而覺得羞恥，因為他已經為他們預備了一座城。因着信，亞伯拉罕被考驗的時候把以撒獻上，這就是那領受了應許的人甘心把自己獨生的兒子獻上。論到這兒子，上帝曾說：「從以撒生的才要稱為你的後裔。」他認為上帝甚至能使人從死人中復活，意味着他得回了他的兒子。

耶穌對他說：「『你若能』，在信的人，凡事都能。」孩子的父親立刻喊着說：「我信；求你幫助我的不信！」

你們這小信的人哪！野地裏的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐裏，上帝還給它這樣的妝飾，何況你們呢？

耶穌說：「你們這些小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？」於是他起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大平靜了。

耶穌立刻伸手拉住他，說：「你這小信的人哪，為甚麼疑惑呢？」

無論是吃肉是喝酒，是甚麼別的事，使弟兄跌倒，一概不做，才是善的。

仍仰望上帝的應許，總沒有因不信而起疑惑，反倒因信而剛強，將榮耀歸給上帝，且滿心相信上帝所應許的必能成就。

亞伯拉罕和撒拉都年紀老邁，撒拉的月經已停了。撒拉心裏竊笑，說：「我已衰老，我的主也老了，怎能有這喜事呢？」耶和華對亞伯拉罕說：「撒拉為甚麼竊笑，說：『我已年老，果真能生育嗎？』耶和華豈有難成的事嗎？到了所定的時候，我必回到你這裏。明年這時候，撒拉會生一個兒子。」

然後他對多馬說：「把你的指頭伸到這裏來，看看我的手；把你的手伸過來，探入我的肋旁。不要疑惑，總要信！」多馬回答，對他說：「我的主！我的上帝！」
