其信甚篤、年近百歲、不顧己身已衰、亦不顧撒拉之胎已絕孕、

故雖明知己之將近百歲、精力枯竭、且明知灑蕾之久已絕孕；然信心未因此而稍衰、

Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead— since he was about a hundred years old— and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.

Abraham did not become weak in his faith. He accepted the fact that he was past the time when he could have children. At that time Abraham was about 100 years old. He also realized that Sarah was too old to have children.

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead( since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.

And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead— and so was Sarah’s womb.

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body to be already dead( since he was about a hundred years old) and also the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead( since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead( he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

He considered his own body to be already dead( since he was about 100 years old) and also considered the deadness of Sarah’s womb, without weakening in the faith.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:

Without being weak in faith, he considered his own body as dead( because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out,( he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

亞伯拉罕就俯伏在地，笑了起來，心想：「我一百歲了，還能有孩子嗎？撒拉已經九十歲了，還能生養嗎？」

撒拉過了生育年齡後憑信心仍然得到了孕育後代的能力，因為她認定賜她應許的上帝言出必行。所以，從一個垂暮之年的人生出許多子孫，好像天上的星、海邊的沙那麼多。這些人到死都滿懷信心。他們雖然沒有得到上帝所應許的，卻從遠處望見了，就歡喜快樂，承認自己在世上不過是寄居的異鄉人。他們抱這樣的態度，表明他們正在尋找一個家鄉。如果他們想念的是自己離開的家鄉，就找機會回去了。然而，他們渴慕的是天上更美的家鄉。所以，上帝不以被他們稱為上帝為恥，因為祂已經為他們預備了一座城。亞伯拉罕被試驗時憑信心把以撒獻為祭物，承受應許的亞伯拉罕當時獻上了自己的獨生子。論到這兒子，上帝曾說：「以撒生的才可算為你的後裔。」他認定上帝能使死人復活，從象徵意義上說，他也確實從死亡中得回了以撒。

耶穌說：「如果你能？對於相信的人，凡事都有可能！」孩子的父親立刻喊著說：「我信！但我信心不足，求你幫助我！」

你們信心太小了！野地裡的草今天還在，明天就丟在爐中化為灰燼，上帝還這樣裝扮它們，何況你們呢？

耶穌答道：「你們信心太小了，為什麼害怕呢？」於是祂起來斥責風和浪，風浪就完全平靜了。

耶穌馬上伸手拉住他，說：「你信心太小了！為什麼懷疑呢？」

無論是吃肉、喝酒還是做任何別的事，如果會絆倒別人，就應該一概不做。

他沒有因不信而懷疑上帝的應許，反倒信心更加堅定，將榮耀歸給上帝。他完全相信上帝必能實現祂的應許。

亞伯拉罕和撒拉已經年紀老邁，撒拉的月經也已經停了。撒拉暗自發笑，心想：「我已經這麼老了，還會有這種福氣嗎？況且我的丈夫也很老了。」耶和華問亞伯拉罕：「撒拉為什麼偷笑說，『我這把年紀還會有孩子嗎？』什麼事難得住耶和華呢？明年這時候，我會再來你這裡，撒拉必生一個兒子。」

然後對多馬說：「把你的指頭放在我手上摸摸看，伸出手來摸摸我的肋旁。不要懷疑，要信！」多馬回答說：「我的主，我的上帝！」
