( as it is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed— God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

亚伯拉罕所信的，是那叫死人复活、使无变为有的神，他在主面前作我们世人的父。如经上所记：“我已经立你作多国的父。”

亚伯拉罕在上帝面前是我们所有人的父，正如圣经上说：“我已经立你为万族之父。”他所信的上帝是能够使死人复活、使无变有的上帝。

正如经上所记：“我已经指派你为众多民族的父。”亚伯拉罕所信的那一位，就是叫死人得生命、使无变为有的神。

亞伯拉罕所信的，是那叫死人復活、使無變為有的神，他在主面前作我們世人的父。如經上所記：「我已經立你作多國的父。」

在亞伯拉罕所信的上帝面前，就是在那能叫死人活、能呼叫不存在的成為存在者、面前，亞伯拉罕是我眾人的父；正如經上所記：『我立了你做許多邦國的父』。

正如經上所記：「我已經指派你為眾多民族的父。」亞伯拉罕所信的那一位，就是叫死人得生命、使無變為有的神。

如經云、我立爾為萬邦之父、夫上帝即甦諸死者、命無為有者也、

經云、我命爾為萬民父焉、且上帝使死者生、變無為有亞伯拉罕篤信上帝、故在其前、得為吾眾之父、

蓋亞伯漢實為萬民之父。經曰：『吾使爾為萬邦之父』此之謂也。顧其所以能在天主之前為眾人之父者、亦曰篤信天主而已。蓋惟天主能予死者以生命、而出萬有於無有耳。

As it is written:“ I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed— the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

It is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations.”( Genesis 17:5) God considers Abraham to be our father. The God that Abraham believed in gives life to the dead. Abraham’s God also creates things that did not exist before.

as it is written,“ I have made you the father of many nations”— in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.

That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him,“ I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.

As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations— in the presence of the God in whom he believed, the one who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist.

( as it is written:“ I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, that is, God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist.

( as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, even God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.

in God’s sight. As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations. He believed in God, who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist.

( As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed,[ even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

( as it is written,“ I have made you the father of many nations”). He is our father in the presence of God whom he believed– the God who makes the dead alive and summons the things that do not yet exist as though they already do.

As it is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.

and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

“ As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ( by grace you have been saved),

who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

“ For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude— innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim.”

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, Since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them.

And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together.

“ And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,‘ You are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

And so it is written,“ The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

I will say to the north,‘ Give them up!’ And to the south,‘ Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth—

“ May God Almighty bless you, And make you fruitful and multiply you, That you may be an assembly of peoples;

and do not think to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

Abraham again took a wife, and her name was Keturah.And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.And the sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had; and while he was still living he sent them eastward, away from Isaac his son, to the country of the east.This is the sum of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years.Then Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite,the field which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth. There Abraham was buried, and Sarah his wife.And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer Lahai Roi.Now this is the genealogy of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s maidservant, bore to Abraham.And these were the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,Mishma, Dumah, Massa,Hadar, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.These were the sons of Ishmael and these were their names, by their towns and their settlements, twelve princes according to their nations.These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.( They dwelt from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt as you go toward Assyria.) He died in the presence of all his brethren.This is the genealogy of Isaac, Abraham’s son. Abraham begot Isaac.Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.But the children struggled together within her; and she said,“ If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.And the Lord said to her:“ Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb.And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau.Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents.And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary.And Esau said to Jacob,“ Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom.But Jacob said,“ Sell me your birthright as of this day.”And Esau said,“ Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”Then Jacob said,“ Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
