So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.

所以人得为后嗣是本乎信，因此就属乎恩，叫应许定然归给一切后裔；不但归给那属乎律法的，也归给那效法亚伯拉罕之信的。

所以，人作后嗣是出于信，因此就属乎恩，以致应许保证归给所有的后裔，不但归给那属于律法的，也归给那效法亚伯拉罕之信的人。亚伯拉罕所信的是那叫死人复活、使无变为有的上帝，在这位上帝面前亚伯拉罕成为我们众人的父，如经上所记：“我已经立你作多国之父。”

所以，成为后嗣是因着信，为的是要按着神的恩典，使给所有后裔的应许坚定不移，不但临到那属于律法的人，也临到那效法亚伯拉罕而信的人。亚伯拉罕在神面前作我们众人的父，

为此，这应许是本于信，好使这应许照着恩典，能确保给所有的后裔——不仅是给属律法的，也是给属亚伯拉罕信心的。亚伯拉罕在神面前是我们每个人的父，

就是因為這個緣故、所以才本着信、要使應許確定，按照恩典、給予一切後裔，不但給予那本着律法的人，也給予那本着亞伯拉罕之信的人。

為此，這應許是本於信，好使這應許照著恩典，能確保給所有的後裔——不僅是給屬律法的，也是給屬亞伯拉罕信心的。亞伯拉罕在神面前是我們每個人的父，

故由乎信、而依乎恩、致堅所許於諸裔、不第於宗律者、亦於宗亞伯拉罕之信者、亞伯拉罕於所信之上帝前、為我眾之父、

故應許本乎信、實由上帝恩、而應許益堅、且及苗裔、其為裔、不惟遵法、乃效吾父亞伯拉罕之信、

是以為嗣子乃因乎信、使所許者、因恩而定、且歸眾苗裔、不獨歸於屬律法者、亦歸於有亞伯拉罕之信之人、亞伯拉罕於天主前、為我眾之父、如經載云、我立爾為萬民之父、天主能使死復生、命無為有、亞伯拉罕信之、

是故人之為嗣、所緣惟信德、所恃惟慈惠；庶幾天主之恩諾、能普被眾裔、不僅限於屬法者亦且兼及具有亞伯漢之信德者。

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring— not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

The promise is based on God’s grace. The promise comes by faith. All of Abraham’s children will certainly receive the promise. And it is not only for those who are ruled by the law. Those who have the same faith that Abraham had are also included. He is the father of us all.

That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring— not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace, to guarantee it to all the descendants— not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all

Therefore[ it is] of faith, that[ it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

For this reason it is by faith so that it may be by grace, with the result that the promise may be certain to all the descendants– not only to those who are under the law, but also to those who have the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past,for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children.

But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ.

that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.( It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors.

Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation. Abraham was only one man when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.”

For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying:“ I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number.”Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding.God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.

Circumcision was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous— even before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are counted as righteous because of their faith.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God.What’s more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said,“ All nations will be blessed through you.”So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say,“ Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say,“ It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says,“ It is through obeying the law that a person has life.”
