蓋律以致怒、無律則無犯、

有法、此有刑、無法、則無犯法、

蓋律法致刑、無律法則無過犯、

夫法者、刑戮之器也；法之不存、何犯之有。

because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

The law brings God’s anger. Where there is no law, the law can’t be broken.

For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it.( The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!)

for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, there also is no violation.

because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.

for the law worketh wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there transgression.

For the law produces wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.

Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is,[ there is] no transgression.

For the law brings wrath, because where there is no law there is no transgression either.

For the law produces wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person’s account when there is no law.

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, Everyone who does not do everything written in the book of the law is cursed.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet.And sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind. For apart from the law sin is dead.Once I was alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life againand I died. The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me.For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.Therefore, did what is good become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, in order to be recognized as sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become sinful beyond measure.For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold as a slave under sin.For I do not understand what I am doing, because I do not practice what I want to do, but I do what I hate.Now if I do what I do not want to do, I agree with the law that it is good.So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me.For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one that does it, but it is the sin that lives in me.So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me.For in my inner self I delight in God’s law,but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am serving the law of God, but with my flesh, the law of sin.

The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even moreso that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Everyone who commits sin practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who rejects the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

Now if the ministry that brought death, chiseled in letters on stones, came with glory, so that the Israelites were not able to gaze steadily at Moses’s face because of its glory, which was set aside,how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?For if the ministry that brought condemnation had glory, the ministry that brings righteousness overflows with even more glory.

Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.He will repay each one according to his works:

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin.

Why, then, was the law given? It was added for the sake of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come. The law was put into effect through angels by means of a mediator.

For all who sin without the law will also perish without the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

You summon those who terrorize me on every side, as if for an appointed festival day; on the day of the LORD’s anger no one escaped or survived. My enemy has destroyed those I nurtured and reared.

The LORD will not be willing to forgive him. Instead, his anger and jealousy will burn against that person, and every curse written in this scroll will descend on him. The LORD will blot out his name under heaven,and single him out for harm from all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.“ Future generations of your children who follow you and the foreigner who comes from a distant country will see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses the LORD has inflicted on it.All its soil will be a burning waste of sulfur and salt, unsown, producing nothing, with no plant growing on it, just like the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD demolished in his fierce anger.All the nations will ask,‘ Why has the LORD done this to this land? Why this intense outburst of anger?’Then people will answer,‘ It is because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD, the God of their ancestors, which he had made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.They began to serve other gods, bowing in worship to gods they had not known— gods that the LORD had not permitted them to worship.Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against this land, and he brought every curse written in this book on it.The LORD uprooted them from their land in his anger, rage, and intense wrath, and threw them into another land where they are today.’

Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.

Their silver and their gold will be unable to rescue them on the day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of his jealousy, for he will make a complete, yes, a horrifying end of all the inhabitants of the earth.

Because of this, put on sackcloth; mourn and wail, for the LORD’s burning anger has not turned away from us.

They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will seem like something filthy. Their silver and gold will be unable to save them in the day of the LORD’s wrath. They will not satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs, for these were the stumbling blocks that brought about their iniquity.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.

“ Go and inquire of the LORD for me, for the people, and for all Judah about the words in this book that has been found. For great is the LORD’s wrath that is kindled against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words of this book in order to do everything written about us.”

Because of these, God’s wrath is coming upon the disobedient,

And here you, a brood of sinners, stand in your ancestors’ place adding even more to the LORD’s burning anger against Israel.

A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.

And they said to the mountains and to the rocks,“ Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,because the great day of their wrath has come! And who is able to stand?”
