彼受割禮之號、即未受割禮時、因信而稱義之印證、使其為凡未受割禮而信者之父、使彼亦得稱義、

其受割之儀式、不過為因信成義之印證、而其信德則於未割之時、固已全具矣。因是亞伯漢乃為未受割而因信成義者之父、

And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.

He was circumcised as a sign of the covenant God had made with him. It showed that his faith had made him right with God before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the father of all believers who have not been circumcised. God accepts their faith. So their faith makes them right with him.

He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

Circumcision was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous— even before he was circumcised. So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are counted as righteous because of their faith.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,

就是上帝的義，因信耶穌基督加給一切信的人。這並沒有分別，

耶穌對他說：「今天救恩到了這家，因為他也是亞伯拉罕的子孫。

因着信，挪亞既蒙上帝指示他未見的事，動了敬畏的心，造了方舟，使他全家得救。藉此他定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那從信而來的義。

他在我們身上蓋了印，並賜聖靈在我們心裏作憑據。

耶穌對他們說：「我就是生命的糧。到我這裏來的，絕不飢餓；信我的，永不乾渴。

不要使上帝的聖靈擔憂，你們原是受了他的印記，等候得救贖的日子來到。

在基督裏你們聽見真理的道，就是那使你們得救的福音，你們也信了他，就受了所應許的聖靈為印記。

也使他作受割禮之人的父，就是那些不但受割禮，而且跟隨我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕未受割禮而信的足跡的人。因為上帝給亞伯拉罕和他後裔承受世界的應許不是藉着律法，而是藉着信而得的義。

牠們奉命不可傷害地上的草、各樣綠色植物和各種樹木，惟獨可傷害額上沒有上帝印記的人；

且以我的安息日為聖。這日必在我與你們中間作記號，使你們知道我是耶和華－你們的上帝。』

既然你們屬於基督，你們就是亞伯拉罕的子孫，是照着應許承受產業的了。

並且得以在他裏面，不是有自己因律法而得的義，而是有信基督的義，就是基於信，從上帝而來的義，

耶穌對她說：「復活在我，生命也在我。信我的人雖然死了，也必復活。凡活着信我的人必永遠不死。你信這話嗎？」

信子的人有永生；不信子的人得不到永生，而且上帝的憤怒常在他身上。」

我實實在在地告訴你們，信的人有永生。

他們回答他：「我們是亞伯拉罕的後裔，從來沒有作過誰的奴隸，你怎麼說『會使你們自由』呢？」

律法的總結就是基督，使所有信他的人都得着義。

至於我們，我們是靠着聖靈，憑着信心，等候所盼望的義。

因為我父的旨意是要使每一個見了子而信的人得永生，並且在末日我要使他復活。」

但聖經把萬物都圈在罪裏，為要使因信耶穌基督而來的應許歸給信的人。

我又告訴你們，從東從西，將有許多人來，在天國裏與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各一同坐席；

這不是說上帝的話落了空。因為從以色列生的不都是以色列人，

耶穌基督的僕人和使徒西門‧彼得寫信給那因我們的上帝和救主耶穌基督的義，與我們同得一樣寶貴信心的人。

耶和華－你的上帝要使你的心和你後裔的心受割禮，好叫你盡心盡性愛耶和華－你的上帝，使你可以存活。

因為外表是猶太人的不是真猶太人；外表肉身的割禮也不是真割禮。惟有內心作猶太人的才是真猶太人，真割禮也是心裏的，在乎聖靈，不在乎儀文。這樣的人所受的稱讚不是從人來的，而是從上帝來的。

要使一切信他的人都得永生。「上帝愛世人，甚至將他獨一的兒子賜給他們，叫一切信他的人不致滅亡，反得永生。

這是我和以色列人之間永遠的記號，因為六日之內耶和華造天地，第七日就安息舒暢。」

這血要在你們所住的房屋上作記號；我一見這血，就逾越你們。我擊打埃及地的時候，災殃必不臨到你們身上施行毀滅。」

西門‧彼得回答說：「你是基督，是永生上帝的兒子。」

所以，人作後嗣是出於信，因此就屬乎恩，以致應許保證歸給所有的後裔，不但歸給那屬於律法的，也歸給那效法亞伯拉罕之信的人。亞伯拉罕所信的是那叫死人復活、使無變為有的上帝，在這位上帝面前亞伯拉罕成為我們眾人的父，如經上所記：「我已經立你作多國之父。」

信我的人，就如經上所說：『從他腹中將流出活水的江河來。』」耶穌這話是指信他的人要受聖靈說的；那時還沒有賜下聖靈，因為耶穌還沒有得到榮耀。

凡照這準則行的人，願平安憐憫加給他們，和上帝的以色列民

這就是我與你，以及你的後裔所立的約，是你們所當遵守的，你們所有的男子都要受割禮。你們要割去肉體的包皮，這是我與你們立約的記號。

所以，你們知道：有信心的人才是亞伯拉罕的子孫。

我將我的安息日賜給他們，在我與他們中間作記號，讓他們知道我－耶和華是使他們分別為聖的。

經上說：「凡信靠他的人必不蒙羞。」

「你要吩咐以色列人說：『你們務要守我的安息日，因為這是你我之間世世代代的記號，叫你們知道我是耶和華，是使你們分別為聖的。

這樣，我們要怎麼說呢？那不追求義的外邦人卻獲得了義，就是因信而獲得的義。

但出於信的義卻如此說：「你不要心裏說：誰要升到天上去呢？（就是說，把基督領下來。）

就如經上所記：「我在錫安放一塊絆腳的石頭，使人跌倒的磐石；信靠他的人必不蒙羞。」
