For if by my lie the truth of God enhances his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

若神的真实，因我的虚谎越发显出他的荣耀，为什么我还受审判，好像罪人呢？

若上帝的真实因我的虚谎越发显出他的荣耀，为什么我还像罪人一样受审判呢？

你们又说：“如果我们的虚谎凸显出上帝的真实，增加祂的荣耀，为什么祂还要把我们当作罪人审判呢？”

但是神的诚实，如果因我的虚谎而更加显出他的荣耀来，为什么我还要像罪人一样受审判呢？

那么，如果神的真实因我的虚谎使他的荣耀更加丰盛，为什么我还要像罪人一样被定罪呢？

若神的真實，因我的虛謊越發顯出他的榮耀，為甚麼我還受審判，好像罪人呢？

若上帝的真實因我的虛謊越發顯出他的榮耀，為甚麼我還像罪人一樣受審判呢？

若神的真實因我的虛謊越發顯出他的榮耀，為甚麼我還像罪人一樣受審判呢？

你們又說：「如果我們的虛謊凸顯出上帝的真實，增加祂的榮耀，為什麼祂還要把我們當作罪人審判呢？」

但是神的誠實，如果因我的虛謊而更加顯出他的榮耀來，為甚麼我還要像罪人一樣受審判呢？

但上帝的真實如果因我的虛假越發彰顯他的榮耀來，為甚麼我還被斷為罪人呢？

那麼，如果神的真實因我的虛謊使他的榮耀更加豐盛，為什麼我還要像罪人一樣被定罪呢？

若上帝之誠、因我之偽而益致其榮、則我何仍見鞫如罪人乎、

曰、若我之偽、益彰上帝之誠以致其榮、則我何反見擬如罪人乎、

若天主之真、因我之偽、而愈顯以致其榮、則我何又見擬如罪人乎、

曰：今夫天主之真、既賴吾人之偽、而發揚光大、則吾之被判為罪人、不亦枉乎？

Someone might argue,“ If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?”

Someone might argue,“ When I lie, it becomes clearer that God is truthful. It makes his glory shine more brightly. Why then does he find me guilty of sin?”

But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?

“ But,” someone might still argue,“ how can God condemn me as a sinner if my dishonesty highlights his truthfulness and brings him more glory?”

But if by my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God has increased through my lie to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

But if the truth of God through my lie abounded unto his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

But if by my lie God’s truth is amplified to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written:“ so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”

Jesus said to him,“ I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

You will say to me then,“ Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”

I sent him against a godless nation, I ordered him to attack the people with whom I was angry, to take plunder and to carry away loot, to trample them down like dirt in the streets.But he does not agree with this, his mind does not reason this way, for his goal is to destroy, and to eliminate many nations.

this man, who was handed over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by nailing him to a cross at the hands of Gentiles.

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A slave girl came to him and said,“ You also were with Jesus the Galilean.”But he denied it in front of them all:“ I don’t know what you’re talking about!”When he went out to the gateway, another slave girl saw him and said to the people there,“ This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.”He denied it again with an oath,“ I do not know the man!”After a little while, those standing there came up to Peter and said,“ You really are one of them too– even your accent gives you away!”At that he began to curse, and he swore with an oath,“ I do not know the man!” At that moment a rooster crowed.Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

When the old prophet who had invited him to his house heard the news, he said,“ It is the prophet who rebelled against the LORD. The LORD delivered him over to the lion and it ripped him up and killed him, just as the LORD warned him.”He told his sons,“ Saddle my donkey,” and they did so.He went and found the corpse lying in the road with the donkey and the lion standing beside it; the lion had neither eaten the corpse nor attacked the donkey.The old prophet picked up the corpse of the prophet, put it on the donkey, and brought it back. The old prophet then entered the city to mourn him and to bury him.He put the corpse into his own tomb, and they mourned over him, saying,“ Ah, my brother!”After he buried him, he said to his sons,“ When I die, bury me in the tomb where the prophet is buried; put my bones right beside his bones,for the prophecy he announced with the LORD’s authority against the altar in Bethel and against all the temples on the high places in the cities of the north will certainly be fulfilled.”

For the people who live in Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him, and they fulfilled the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath by condemning him.Though they found no basis for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.When they had accomplished everything that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb.

Elisha said to him,“ Go and tell him,‘ You will surely recover,’ but the LORD has revealed to me that he will surely die.”Elisha just stared at him until Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the prophet started crying.Hazael asked,“ Why are you crying, my master?” He replied,“ Because I know the trouble you will cause the Israelites. You will set fire to their fortresses, kill their young men with the sword, smash their children to bits, and rip open their pregnant women.”Hazael said,“ How could your servant, who is as insignificant as a dog, accomplish this great military victory?” Elisha answered,“ The LORD has revealed to me that you will be the king of Syria.”He left Elisha and went to his master. Ben Hadad asked him,“ What did Elisha tell you?” Hazael replied,“ He told me you would surely recover.”The next day Hazael took a piece of cloth, dipped it in water, and spread it over Ben Hadad’s face until he died. Then Hazael replaced him as king.

Come now, let’s kill him, throw him into one of the cisterns, and then say that a wild animal ate him. Then we’ll see how his dreams turn out!”

So the LORD saved Israel on that day from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea.

But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, not even under force.

He instructed the servant who was over his household,“ Fill the sacks of the men with as much food as they can carry and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack.Then put my cup– the silver cup– in the mouth of the youngest one’s sack, along with the money for his grain.” He did as Joseph instructed.When morning came, the men and their donkeys were sent off.They had not gone very far from the city when Joseph said to the servant who was over his household,“ Pursue the men at once! When you overtake them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid good with evil?Doesn’t my master drink from this cup and use it for divination? You have done wrong!’”When the man overtook them, he spoke these words to them.They answered him,“ Why does my lord say such things? Far be it from your servants to do such a thing!Look, the money that we found in the mouths of our sacks we brought back to you from the land of Canaan. Why then would we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?If one of us has it, he will die, and the rest of us will become my lord’s slaves!”He replied,“ You have suggested your own punishment! The one who has it will become my slave, but the rest of you will go free.”So each man quickly lowered his sack to the ground and opened it.Then the man searched. He began with the oldest and finished with the youngest. The cup was found in Benjamin’s sack!They all tore their clothes! Then each man loaded his donkey, and they returned to the city.So Judah and his brothers came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

Then his brothers asked him,“ Do you really think you will rule over us or have dominion over us?” They hated him even more because of his dream and because of what he said.Then he had another dream, and told it to his brothers.“ Look,” he said.“ I had another dream. The sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

For the LORD gave me strict orders,‘ Do not eat or drink there; do not go back the way you came.’”The old prophet then said,“ I too am a prophet like you. An angel told me with the LORD’s authority,‘ Bring him back with you to your house so he can eat and drink.’” But he was lying to him.

When it was reported to the king of Egypt that the people had fled, the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people, and the king and his servants said,“ What in the world have we done? For we have released the people of Israel from serving us!”

Then his brothers also came and threw themselves down before him; they said,“ Here we are; we are your slaves.”But Joseph answered them,“ Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.
