那么，如果神的真实因我的虚谎使他的荣耀更加丰盛，为什么我还要像罪人一样被定罪呢？

但上帝的真實如果因我的虛假越發彰顯他的榮耀來，為甚麼我還被斷為罪人呢？

那麼，如果神的真實因我的虛謊使他的榮耀更加豐盛，為什麼我還要像罪人一樣被定罪呢？

若上帝之誠、因我之偽而益致其榮、則我何仍見鞫如罪人乎、

曰、若我之偽、益彰上帝之誠以致其榮、則我何反見擬如罪人乎、

若天主之真、因我之偽、而愈顯以致其榮、則我何又見擬如罪人乎、

曰：今夫天主之真、既賴吾人之偽、而發揚光大、則吾之被判為罪人、不亦枉乎？

Someone might argue,“ If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?”

Someone might argue,“ When I lie, it becomes clearer that God is truthful. It makes his glory shine more brightly. Why then does he find me guilty of sin?”

But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?

“ But,” someone might still argue,“ how can God condemn me as a sinner if my dishonesty highlights his truthfulness and brings him more glory?”

But if by my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God has increased through my lie to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

But if by my lie God’s truth is amplified to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou shalt surely recover; howbeit Jehovah hath showed me that he shall surely die.And he settled his countenance stedfastly upon him, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strongholds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child.And Hazael said, But what is thy servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, Jehovah hath showed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou wouldest surely recover.And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took the coverlet, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.

Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say, An evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.

Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea- shore.

And I know that the king of Egypt will not give you leave to go, no, not by a mighty hand.

And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his sack’s mouth.And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his grain money. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it to his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed yet a dream; and, behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars made obeisance to me.

for it was said to me by the word of Jehovah, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.And he said unto him, I also am a prophet as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with thee into thy house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

And it was told the king of Egypt that the people were fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towards the people, and they said, What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we are thy servants.And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?And as for you, ye meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
