既然如此，还有什么可夸耀的呢？根本没有。凭着什么法则呢？凭着行为的法则吗？不是！而是凭着信的法则。

既然如此，還有什麼可誇耀的呢？根本沒有。憑著什麼法則呢？憑著行為的法則嗎？不是！而是憑著信的法則。

然則所誇安在乎、曰、無之矣、以何律無之、以行之律乎、曰、非也、以信之律耳、

然則有何可誇乎、曰、無、以何法無之、恃己所行之法乎、曰、否、在信、

然則有何可誇乎、無有、以何法無之、以行之法乎、非也、乃以信之法、

然則吾人復何所誇？實無所誇也。尚憑何法？其憑事功之法乎？非也！乃憑立信之法耳。

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.

So who can brag? No one! Are people saved by the law that requires them to obey? Not at all! They are saved because of the law that requires faith.

Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith.

Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith.

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By one of works? No, on the contrary, by a law of faith.

Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.

You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? (niv)

If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about— but not before God. (niv)

He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said,‘ God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’“ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” (niv)

but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. (niv)

And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. (niv)

Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. (niv)

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? (niv)

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law:“ The person who does these things will live by them.” (niv)

Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. (niv)

know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. (niv)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (niv)
