For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

因為世人都犯了罪，虧缺了上帝的榮耀，

因為世人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀，

因為世人都犯了罪，虧欠上帝的榮耀，

因為人人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀，

因為萬人都犯了罪，都虧缺了上帝的榮耀，

要知道，每個人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀；

蓋眾已獲罪、而歉上帝之榮、

蓋眾已獲罪、有歉上帝所賜之榮、

蓋眾已獲罪、不得不得或作缺於天主之榮、

舉世莫非罪人、固未有能懷天主之明德者也。

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory.

There is certainly no righteous man on the earth who does good and never sins.

What then? Are we any better? Not at all! For we have previously charged that both Jews and Gentiles are all under sin,

But the Scripture has imprisoned everything under sin’s power, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

For God has imprisoned all in disobedience, so that He may have mercy on all.

Now we know that whatever the law says speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.

we encouraged, comforted, and implored each one of you to walk worthy of God, who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

He called you to this through our gospel, so that you might obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.Although they know full well God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.Therefore, any one of you who judges is without excuse. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.We know that God’s judgment on those who do such things is based on the truth.Do you really think— anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same— that you will escape God’s judgment?Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?But because of your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.He will repay each one according to his works:eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;but wrath and indignation to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth but are obeying unrighteousness;affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek;but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.There is no favoritism with God.All those who sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all those who sinned under the law will be judged by the law.For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous.So, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, instinctively do what the law demands, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the law.They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts will either accuse or excuse themon the day when God judges what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

Therefore, as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of the Messiah and also a participant in the glory about to be revealed, I exhort the elders among you:

Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of the Messiah, so that you may also rejoice with great joy at the revelation of His glory.

We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it.
