Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

厥喉似破塋、其舌施詭詐、其唇藏蝮毒、

其喉似已開之墓、其舌施詭詐、其唇藏蝮毒、

又云：『舌端弄詭譎、咽喉如荒墓；唇內藏辛螫、

“ Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.”“ The poison of vipers is on their lips.”

“ Their throats are like open graves. With their tongues they tell lies.”( Psalm 5:9)“ The words from their lips are like the poison of a snake.”( Psalm 140:3)

Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

Their wine is the poison of serpents, And the cruel venom of asps.

God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

And they bend their tongue, as it were their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah.Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and trust ye not in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go about with slanders.And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: He hath ceased to be wise and to do good.

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.

Ye offspring of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.The good man out of his good treasure bringeth forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

My soul is among lions; I lie among them that are set on fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.

So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire!And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind:but the tongue can no man tame; it is a restless evil, it is full of deadly poison.

Their quiver is an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

Have ye not seen a false vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, in that ye say, Jehovah saith; albeit I have not spoken?

Yet his food in his bowels is turned, It is the gall of asps within him.He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again; God will cast them out of his belly.He shall suck the poison of asps: The viper’s tongue shall slay him.
