God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were[ any] that did understand, that did seek God.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand,[ and] seek God.They are all gone aside, they are[ all] together become filthy:[ there is] none that doeth good, no, not one.Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

I am sought of[ them that] asked not[ for me]; I am found of[ them that] sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation[ that] was not called by my name.

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful,[ and] hating one another.

Because the carnal mind[ is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

For my people[ is] foolish, they have not known me; they[ are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they[ are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

And even as they did not like to retain God in[ their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth[ it] not, then cometh the wicked[ one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The fear of the LORD[ is] the beginning of knowledge:[ but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because[ they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

What[ is] the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?Lo, their good[ is] not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
