For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.

“ For My people are fools; they do not know Me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

“ How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?

Because they hated knowledge, didn’t choose to fear the Lord,were not interested in my counsel, and rejected all my correction,

For this reason I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.

When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from serving as My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your sons.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to Yahweh their God, and for all this, they do not seek Him.

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call to Him while He is near.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true One. We are in the true One— that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

When its branches dry out, they will be broken off. Women will come and make fires with them, for they are not a people with understanding. Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them, and their Creator will not be gracious to them.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who depend on horses! They trust in the abundance of chariots and in the large number of horsemen. They do not look to the Holy One of Israel and they do not seek the Lord’s help.

The people did not turn to Him who struck them; they did not seek the Lord of Hosts.

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him, and what will we gain by pleading with Him?”But their prosperity is not of their own doing. The counsel of the wicked is far from me!
