蓋外表之猶太人、非真猶太人；而形軀之割禮、非真割禮。

A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.

A person is not a Jew if they are a Jew only on the outside. And circumcision is more than just something done to the outside of a man’s body.

For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision.

For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh.

But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called.”That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

“ Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the Lord, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness;For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is His name:

Unless the Lord of hosts Had left to us a very small remnant, We would have become like Sodom, We would have been made like Gomorrah.Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the law of our God, You people of Gomorrah:“ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, Or of lambs or goats.“ When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, To trample My courts?Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting.Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them.When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised.And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised.

“ I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them,“ If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

There is also an antitype which now saves us— baptism( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Egypt, Judah, Edom, the people of Ammon, Moab, and all who are in the farthest corners, who dwell in the wilderness. For all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.”

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him,“ Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

Truly God is good to Israel, To such as are pure in heart.

And she conceived again and bore a daughter. Then God said to him:“ Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, But I will utterly take them away.Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, Will save them by the Lord their God, And will not save them by bow, Nor by sword or battle, By horses or horsemen.”Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and bore a son.Then God said:“ Call his name Lo-Ammi, For you are not My people, And I will not be your God.

Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God,
