A person is not a Jew if they are a Jew only on the outside. And circumcision is more than just something done to the outside of a man’s body.

For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision.

It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
