然則爾欲正人、盍先正己！禁人為盜者、豈可自身為盜？

you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

You claim to teach others, but you don’t even teach yourself! You preach against stealing. But you steal!

Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal?

all things therefore whatsoever they bid you, these do and observe: but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not.Yea, they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi.But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, even he who is in heaven.Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, even the Christ.But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.

The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.

And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,Seeing that thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that which I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow;

And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.

For not even they who receive circumcision do themselves keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

Yea, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds that cannot understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.

Hear this, O ye that would swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail,saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbors by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah.Behold, therefore, I have smitten my hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers.

But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine:that aged men be temperate, grave, sober- minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience:that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,to be sober- minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed:the younger men likewise exhort to be sober- minded:in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity,

And he said, Woe unto you lawyers also! for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
