For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written:“ The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

Even Christ did not please himself. It is written,“ The bad things people have said about you have been aimed at me also.”( Psalm 69:9)

即吾同胞之兄弟兮。亦因是而視予為陌路。

其為人也、復謙之又謙、損之又損、惟天主之命是從；鞠躬盡瘁、死而後已、終至致命於十字架上。

予不能有所擅行、惟依予之所聞、而為黜陟、予既不徇私意、一遵遣予者之意而行故予之黜陟、乃公正無偏。

爾不曰：「四閱月、即是穡時」乎！今吾告爾、舉目一望田疇、黍稷與與、已可刈矣。

予之所以降自天上者、非欲行己之志、乃欲行遣予者之志；

主待我何厚。恩德多且奇。聖蹟日日新。浩蕩誰與比。我欲咏大德。大德超言詞。祭祀與燔牲。非主之所喜。所喜惟耳順。翼翼承甘旨。願將爾天書。

再往禱曰：『吾父、此爵苟不能移、而必欲予飲者、惟父旨是行。』

今茲吾靈見擾、尚復何言。父乎！盍免我經歷此時！雖然、此事之臨、正為吾完成使命、父乎、其光榮爾名！』時有音發自天上曰：『吾已榮之、將復榮之。』

夫主固知予之窘狀兮。一身受垢而蒙辱。吾敵無數兮。悉在爾目。

稍前行、伏地而禱曰：『吾父乎、事苟可能、請免我飲此苦爵。雖然、勿順予意、但遵父旨。』

舊恩今安在。信誓豈無憑。爾僕蒙大辱。吾主寧不矜。

且遣予者恆與予俱、而不遺予孤立、以予常承厥志故。』

吾主耶穌基督之慷慨、固爾等之所知也。彼乃萬有之主也、顧為爾等之故、甘成貧窮、俾爾等因彼之貧窮、而成富有。

嗣後不復與爾多言、蓋斯世之君行將見臨。彼亦何有於我？第予欲使世人知予愛父、而一切惟父之命是從。起矣！與予偕往！』

弟能及師、僕能如主、足矣；家主且被人呼為魔王、況家人乎？

爾能守吾之誡、所以保吾之愛也；正如吾守吾父之誡、而至今猶保其愛焉。

予若未在眾前行人所不能行之靈蹟、則彼猶可無咎、今彼既睹之、而依然惡予與吾父也！
