我務宣福音、不在已宣基督之處、免建於他人之基、

吾之傳道、特選未聞基督聖名之各地、以免建築於他人之基上。

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

I have always wanted to preach the good news where Christ was not known. I don’t want to build on what someone else has started.

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,

Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,

yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.

但我儕不逾量而誇、惟依上帝分我之限量、及乎爾者、我非逾乎量如不及爾者然、蓋我宣基督福音已及乎爾、我不以他人之功逾量而誇、惟望爾信增益、則我於爾中依我限量而見重、致能昌盛、使福音宣於爾地之外、而不以他人限量內已成之事而誇、

蓋我儕乃上帝同勞者、爾曹為上帝之田、上帝之室、○我依上帝所賜之恩、猶良工師置基、而他人建於其上、惟當各慎其如何建耳、蓋所置之基、耶穌基督也、此外無能置他基者、若人以金銀寶石、草木禾稿、建於基上、各工必顯、至日乃彰、蓋以火昭著、各工如何、火必驗之、人所建於其上之工若存、則將得值、若焚、則將受損、惟己得救、有若脫火焉、○
