這樣，我立定心志要在基督的名沒有被傳過的地方傳福音，免得建造在別人的根基上，

吾之傳道、特選未聞基督聖名之各地、以免建築於他人之基上。

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

I have always wanted to preach the good news where Christ was not known. I don’t want to build on what someone else has started.

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,

My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else.

My aim is to preach the gospel where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,

yea, making it my aim so to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build upon another man’s foundation;

My aim is to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,

Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,

yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.

並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶穌自己為房角石。在基督耶穌裡，全部建築互相連接，漸漸成為在主裡的聖殿；在他裡面，你們也一同被建造，藉著聖靈成為神居住的地方。

實際上，我們是神的同工；你們是神的田地，是神的建築物。我照著神賜給我的恩典，像一個有智慧的建築師，立好了根基，然後別人在上面建造；只是每個人應該當心怎樣在上面建造，因為除了那已經立好的根基以外，沒有人能立別的；那根基就是耶穌基督。如果有人用金、銀、寶石，木、草、禾秸在那根基上建造，每個人的工程將來要顯露，因為那日子要把它顯明；原來它要被火顯現出來，這火要考驗每個人的工程是怎樣的。如果有人在那根基上面所建造的工程能存留得住，這個人就將得到報償；如果有人的工程被燒掉，他就將受到損失，而他自己卻將得救，但是會像從火裡經過的那樣。
