我立定主意，不在宣扬过基督的地方传福音，免得建立在别人的根基上，

吾之傳道、特選未聞基督聖名之各地、以免建築於他人之基上。

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

I have always wanted to preach the good news where Christ was not known. I don’t want to build on what someone else has started.

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,

My aim is to evangelize where Christ has not been named, so that I will not build on someone else’s foundation,

Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,

yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.

并且建造在使徒和先知的根基上，基督耶稣自己就是奠基石，整座建筑都靠着他连接配合，渐渐增长成为在主里面的圣所。你们在他里面也一同被建造，成为神藉着圣灵居住的所在。

我们是神的同工，你们是神的田地，神的房屋。我照着神赐给我的恩典，就像一个聪明的工程师，立好了根基，别人在上面建造。各人要注意怎样在上面建造，因为除了那已经立好的根基以外，没有人能立别的根基。那根基就是耶稣基督。如果有人用金、银、宝石、草、木、禾秸，在这根基上建造，各人的工程将来必要显露，因为那日子必把它显明出来。有火要把它显露出来，那火要考验各人的工程是怎样的。如果有人在这根基上建造的工程存得住，他就要得到赏赐；如果有人的工程被烧毁，他就要受亏损；自己却要得救，只是要像从火里经过一样。
