我立志只去從未聽過基督之名的地方傳福音，免得我建造在別人的根基上。

吾之傳道、特選未聞基督聖名之各地、以免建築於他人之基上。

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.

I have always wanted to preach the good news where Christ was not known. I don’t want to build on what someone else has started.

and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation,

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,

yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.

但我們並非漫無邊際地誇口，而是在上帝為我們定下的範圍之內誇口，你們也包括在這範圍之內。其實把你們包括在我們誇口的範圍之內一點都不過分，因為我們曾把基督的福音傳到你們那裡。我們沒有超出範圍拿別人辛勞的成果誇口，只盼望隨著你們信心的增長，我們的範圍也得到極大的擴展，使我們可以把福音傳到你們以外的地方，而不是在別人的工作範圍內拿別人的成就誇口。

你們已被建立在眾使徒和先知們的基礎上，基督耶穌自己是房角石。整座建築的各部分都靠祂巧妙地連接在一起，逐漸成為主的聖殿。你們也靠著祂被建造在一起，成為上帝藉著聖靈居住的地方。

因為我們是上帝的同工，你們是上帝的園地和建築。我照著上帝賜給我的恩典，好像一位有智慧的建築師打穩了根基，然後讓其他的工人在上面建造。但每個人建造的時候要小心，因為除了那已經奠定的根基——耶穌基督以外，沒有人能另立根基。人們用金、銀、寶石、草、木或禾稭在這根基上建造，每個人的工程將來都會顯明出來，因為到了審判的日子，必用火試驗各人工程的品質。人在這根基上所建造的工程若經得起考驗，他必獲得獎賞。人的工程若被燒毀了，他必遭受損失，自己雖然可以得救，卻像火裡逃生一樣。
