我們若活着，是為主而活；若死了，是為主而死；所以我們或活或死，總是屬主的人。

蓋吾人之生也、為主而生；死也、為主而死；生為主之徒、死為主之屬、如是而已矣。

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

If we live, we live to honor the Lord. If we die, we die to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

按着我熱切的期待和盼望、在任何事上我都不至於羞愧，倒能以十二分放膽的心、或藉着活、或藉着死、總讓基督在我身體上、現今仍和素常一樣、都被尊為大。

基督為了我們死，叫我們或醒着、或睡着、都與他同活。

是各人按着適當的等次：初熟果子是基督；後來是屬基督的，就在他御臨的時候；

於是保羅回答說：『你們幹麼哭、使我心碎呢？為了主耶穌的名、不但被捆綁、就是死在耶路撒冷、我都準備作的。』

然而、就使我的血做奠祭來澆在你們信心的祭物和供奉上、我也歡喜，並且和你們眾人一同歡喜。

論到大衛、他在自己的世代中奉行了上帝的計畫、就長眠下去，放在他祖宗旁邊，見了敗壞；

我們既信耶穌死了又復起了，那麼照樣地那些長眠着的人、上帝也必藉着耶穌而帶領他們、和耶穌一同來。我們本着主的話告訴你們一件事：我們這些蒙存留到主御臨時還活着的人、斷不能在那些長眠着的人之先；因為主必親自從天上降臨，有發令的吶喊，有天使長的聲音，有上帝的號筒，那些在基督裏死了的人必先復起，然後我們這蒙存留還活着的人才和他們一同被攫在雲裏，在空中迎接主。這樣，我們就永遠與主同在了。所以你們要用這些話來彼此鼓勵。

我聽見從天上有聲音說：『你要寫下來：「在主裏面死去的人有福啊！」』聖靈說：『從今以後、他們歇了他們的勞苦而得安息；他們所作的工就永跟着他們。』

因為他為了基督的工作、曾至於與死相近，冒着性命之險，以彌補你們在供奉我的事上所虧缺的。

但我不為性命作甚麼計算，而看為對自己有價值；比較起來，倒不如完盡了我的跑程、和我從主耶穌所領受的執事職任，鄭重證明上帝恩惠之福音。

耶穌說這話，是指明彼得要由甚麼樣的死來榮耀上帝。說了這話，就對彼得說：『你跟着我。』

或保羅、或亞波羅、或磯法、或世界、或活、或死、或現在的、或將來的、全是你們的；但你們卻是基督的，基督又是上帝的。
