我们若活着，是为主而活；若死了，是为主而死。所以，我们或活或死总是主的人。

蓋吾人之生也、為主而生；死也、為主而死；生為主之徒、死為主之屬、如是而已矣。

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

照着我所切慕、所盼望的，没有一事叫我羞愧。只要凡事放胆，无论是生是死，总叫基督在我身上照常显大。

他替我们死，叫我们无论醒着，睡着，都与他同活。

但各人是按着自己的次序复活：初熟的果子是基督；以后，在他来的时候，是那些属基督的。

保罗说：“你们为什么这样痛哭，使我心碎呢？我为主耶稣的名，不但被人捆绑，就是死在耶路撒冷也是愿意的。”

我以你们的信心为供献的祭物，我若被浇奠在其上，也是喜乐，并且与你们众人一同喜乐。

“大卫在世的时候遵行了神的旨意，就睡了，归到他祖宗那里，已见朽坏；

我们若信耶稣死而复活了，那已经在耶稣里睡了的人，神也必将他们与耶稣一同带来。我们现在照主的话告诉你们一件事：我们这活着还存留到主降临的人，断不能在那已经睡了的人之先。因为主必亲自从天降临，有呼叫的声音和天使长的声音，又有神的号吹响；那在基督里死了的人必先复活。以后我们这活着还存留的人必和他们一同被提到云里，在空中与主相遇。这样，我们就要和主永远同在。所以，你们当用这些话彼此劝慰。

我听见从天上有声音说：“你要写下：从今以后，在主里面而死的人有福了！”圣灵说：“是的，他们息了自己的劳苦，做工的果效也随着他们。”

因他为做基督的工夫，几乎至死，不顾性命，要补足你们供给我的不及之处。

我却不以性命为念，也不看为宝贵，只要行完我的路程，成就我从主耶稣所领受的职事，证明神恩惠的福音。

耶稣说这话是指着彼得要怎样死，荣耀神。说了这话，就对他说：“你跟从我吧！”

或保罗，或亚波罗，或矶法，或世界，或生，或死，或现今的事，或将来的事，全是你们的；并且你们是属基督的，基督又是属神的。
