The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.

The person who eats everything must not look down on the one who does not. And the one who doesn’t eat everything must not judge the person who does. That’s because God has accepted them.

Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.

Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.

One who eats must not look down on one who does not eat, and one who does not eat must not judge one who does, because God has accepted him.

The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.

耶穌還對某些自以為義而藐視其他人的，講了這個比喻：

至於你，為什麼評斷你的弟兄呢？又為什麼藐視你的弟兄呢？要知道，我們都要站在神的審判臺前，

這樣，那軟弱的人，就是基督為他而死的那弟兄，就會因你的知識被毀了。當你們這樣對弟兄犯罪，打擊他們軟弱良心的時候，就是對基督犯罪。所以，如果食物使我的弟兄絆倒，我就絕不吃肉直到永遠，免得使我的弟兄絆倒。

所以，我們不要再彼此評斷，倒要下定決心，不給弟兄放下絆跌物或絆腳石。

如果因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂傷，你就不再是憑著愛行事了。基督已經替他死了，不可因你的食物毀了他。

「不要評斷人，免得你們被評斷。因為，你們用什麼標準來評斷，也會同樣地被評斷；你們用什麼量器來衡量，也會同樣地被衡量。

「你們要注意，不可輕視這些卑微人中的一個。我告訴你們：他們的天使在天上常常看見我天父的面。

我說的良心不是你自己的，而是那個人的，因為我的自由何必被別人的良心評斷呢？如果我懷著感恩的心領受，難道有什麼能使我為所感謝的東西而受到毀謗嗎？

所以，在吃喝的事上，或在有關節日、月朔或安息日的事上，不要讓人評斷你們。這些不過是將來之事的影子，而實體卻屬於基督。

不在吃肉、喝酒、或其他事上使你的弟兄絆倒，這才是好的。

於是彼得就開口說：「我現在真的了解神是不偏待人的，

隨後，約翰的門徒們前來問耶穌：「為什麼我們和法利賽人經常禁食，而你的門徒們卻不禁食呢？」

誰藐視這日子，把它看為小呢？那七盞燈看見所羅巴伯手中的鉛垂線，就必歡喜；那七盞燈是耶和華的眼睛，遍察全地。

彼得還在講這些話的時候，聖靈降臨在每個聽這話語的人身上。

「因為約翰來了，不吃也不喝，他們就說：『他有鬼魔附身！』人子來了，也吃也喝，他們就說：『看，這個貪食好酒的人！稅吏和罪人的朋友！』然而，智慧是憑著智慧的行為被證明為義的。」

於是那洞察人心的神，賜聖靈給他們做了見證，就像為我們做的那樣；又藉著信潔淨了他們的心，在我們和他們之間不做什麼區別。
