Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

If[ there be] therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love,[ being] of one accord, of one mind.[ Let] nothing[ be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Who[ is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.This wisdom descendeth not from above, but[ is] earthly, sensual, devilish.For where envying and strife[ is], there[ is] confusion and every evil work.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,[ and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Even as I please all[ men] in all[ things], not seeking mine own profit, but the[ profit] of many, that they may be saved.

Blessed[ are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.[ There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;One Lord, one faith, one baptism,One God and Father of all, who[ is] above all, and through all, and in you all.But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but[ we do] all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual[ gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.Wherefore let him that speaketh in an[ unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret.For if I pray in an[ unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith:[ so do].

But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such[ cases]: but God hath called us to peace.
