Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Who is wise and understanding among you? let him show by his good life his works in meekness of wisdom.But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth.This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.

even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.

So also ye, since ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may abound unto the edifying of the church.Wherefore let him that speaketh in a tongue pray that he may interpret.For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.Else if thou bless with the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of the unlearned say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest?For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

neither to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questionings, rather than a dispensation of God which is in faith; so do I now.

Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us in peace.
