勿以爾之可自由者、令人譭謗、

慎勿以所以為善者、令人毀謗、

是故勿以爾之所長、轉成獲罪之由。

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

So suppose you know something is good. Then don’t let it be spoken of as if it were evil.

So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.

Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good.

Therefore, do not let your good be slandered,

Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;

Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil;

Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?

Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.

We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

Abstain from every form of evil.
