是故勿以爾之所長、轉成獲罪之由。

Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

So suppose you know something is good. Then don’t let it be spoken of as if it were evil.

So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.

Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good.

Therefore, do not let your good be slandered,

Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;

Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

Then don’t let your good be slandered,

“ Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience?But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food over which I give thanks?

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

avoiding this: that anyone should blame us in this lavish gift which is administered by us—providing honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

Abstain from every form of evil.
