Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

So suppose you know something is good. Then don’t let it be spoken of as if it were evil.

Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good.

Now by“ conscience” I do not mean your own, but the other person’s; for why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience?If I partake with thankfulness, why am I slandered about that for which I give thanks?

Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all people.

taking precaution so that no one will discredit us in our administration of this generous gift;for we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of other people.
