I do not mean your own conscience, but the other person’s. For why is my freedom judged by another person’s conscience?If I partake with thanksgiving, why am I criticized because of something for which I give thanks?

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.

We are taking this precaution so that no one will criticize us about this large sum that we are administering.Indeed, we are giving careful thought to do what is right, not only before the Lord but also before people.
