对洁净的人，一切都是洁净的；对污秽和不信的人，没有一样是洁净的，就是他们的理性和良心也都被污秽了。

虽然有的人相信什么都可以吃，但那软弱的人却只吃蔬菜。

不要因食物的缘故破坏神的工作。一切固然都是洁净的，但如果有人因吃东西使人绊脚，这就是恶事了。

彼得却说：“主啊，千万不可！因为我从来没有吃过任何俗物和不洁净的东西。”那声音第二次又对他说：“神所洁净的，你不可当做污秽的。”

但那疑惑的人如果吃了，就被定罪了，因为不是本于信；而一切不是本于信的，就是罪。

因为，如果有人看见你这有知识的人在偶像的庙里坐席，难道不就鼓励了他软弱的良心，使他也去吃那祭过偶像的食物吗？

原来神所造的一切都是美好的；如果以感谢的心领受，就什么也不用丢弃，

就对他们说：“你们知道，犹太人和外族人交往或亲近是律法所禁止的。但是神指示我，不要把任何人当做俗的或不洁净的。

我说：‘主啊，千万不可！因为俗物或不洁净的东西，从来没有入过我的口。’那声音第二次从天上传来，说：‘神所洁净的，你不可当做污秽的。’

肉市上所卖的一切，你们都可以吃；不要为了良心的缘故而问什么，
