不过，这种知识不是人人都有的。有些人直到现在习惯了拜偶像的事，因此他们吃的时候，就把这些食物看作是真的献过给偶像的；他们的良心既然软弱，就被污秽了。

在清洁的人，一切都是清洁的；但在污秽和不信的人，没有一样是清洁的，连他们的意念和良心都污秽了。

有人相信所有的食物都可以吃，信心软弱的人却只吃蔬菜。

不可因食物的缘故拆毁神的工作。一切都是洁净的，但人若因食物绊倒弟兄，对他来说，这就是恶事了。

彼得说：“主啊，千万不可！我从来不吃俗物和不洁的东西。”第二次又有声音对他说：“神所洁净的，你不可当作俗物。”

但如果有人存着疑惑的心去吃，他就被定罪了，因为他不是出于信心。凡不是出于信心的，都是罪。

因为如果有人看见你这有知识的人，在偶像的庙里吃喝，他的良心若是软弱，他不就放胆去吃那祭过偶像的食物吗？

因为凡神所造的，都是好的，只要存感谢的心领受，没有一样是可以弃绝的；

就对他们说：“你们知道，犹太人本来是不准和外国人接近来往的，但神已经指示了我，不可把任何人当作凡俗或不洁的。

我说：‘主啊，千万不可，因为俗物或不洁的东西，从来没有进过我的口。’第二次又有声音从天上回答：‘神所洁净的，你不可当作俗物。’

肉食市场所卖的一切，你们只管吃，不要为了良心的缘故问什么，
