所以無論如何，你們願意人怎樣待你們，你們也要怎樣待人：這就是律法和神言人道理的總綱。

因為在『愛鄰舍如同你自己』這一句話裏、全律法就都行盡了。

你們向一切人、總要把債還清；該向誰納貢銀，就向誰納貢銀；該向誰上稅，就向誰上稅；該敬畏誰；就敬畏誰；該尊敬誰，就尊敬誰。

你手若有力量行善，不可推辭、而不向應得的人行它。不可對鄰舍說：『你且去，以後再來，明天我就給你。』其實你那裏是有現成的。

固然囉，你們如果依照經上所記『愛鄰舍如同你自己』的話、行盡了賦有王權的律法，那好極了！

『我把一條新的誡命給予你們，叫你們彼此相愛；我怎樣愛了你們，你們也要怎樣彼此相愛。

在這一切之上、還要穿上愛，就是「完善」之繩索。

這囑咐的終極乃是愛，從潔淨的心和純善的良知、跟無偽的信心所發生的。

『困苦貧窮的雇工、無論是你的族弟兄、或是寄居在你的地你的城內的、你都不可欺壓他。你要當天發給他工價，不可等到日落才給他——因為他貧困，他心直掛念着那工錢——恐怕他呼求永恆主而控告你，你就有了罪。
