For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

God’s grace has been given to me. So here is what I say to every one of you. Don’t think of yourself more highly than you should. Be reasonable when you think about yourself. Keep in mind the faith God has given to each of you.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

[ Let] nothing[ be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit?[ there is] more hope of a fool than of him.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?

If any man speak,[ let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister,[ let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what[ is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Pride[ goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.Better[ it is to be] of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

[ Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.( Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy,[ let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;Or ministry,[ let us wait] on[ our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth,[ let him do it] with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another[ divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which[ was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure[ unto him].

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men[ are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

For who maketh thee to differ[ from another]? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive[ it], why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received[ it]?Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

[ It is] not good to eat much honey: so[ for men] to search their own glory[ is not] glory.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. (niv)

Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, (niv)

For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. (niv)

To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (niv)

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, (niv)

In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, (niv)

How were you inferior to the other churches, except that I was never a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong! (niv)

Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave meto be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. (niv)
