Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:“ It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

My dear friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back,”( Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,“ Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“ I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.

Do not say,“ I will do to him just as he has done to me; I will pay him back according to what he has done.”

Do not say,“ I will pay back evil!” Wait for the LORD, so that he may vindicate you.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. But whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.

In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.

Cry out, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge his servants’ blood; he will take vengeance against his enemies, and make atonement for his land and people.

Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.

for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be in fear, for it does not bear the sword in vain. It is God’s servant to administer retribution on the wrongdoer.

“ But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.To the person who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other as well, and from the person who takes away your coat, do not withhold your tunic either.

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and when he stumbles do not let your heart rejoice,lest the LORD see it, and be displeased, and turn his wrath away from him.Do not fret because of evil people or be envious of wicked people,

Praised be your good judgment! May you yourself be rewarded for having prevented me this day from shedding blood and taking matters into my own hands!

The LORD is a zealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and very angry. The LORD takes vengeance against his foes; he sustains his rage against his enemies.The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will certainly not allow the wicked to go unpunished. He marches out in the whirlwind and the raging storm; dark storm clouds billow like dust under his feet.

O LORD, the God who avenges! O God who avenges, reveal your splendor!Rise up, O judge of the earth! Pay back the proud!O LORD, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked celebrate?

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the LORD lives and as surely as you live, it is the LORD who has kept you from shedding blood and taking matters into your own hands. Now may your enemies and those who seek to harm my lord be like Nabal.

But Jesus turned and rebuked them,and they went on to another village.

“ This is what the sovereign LORD says:‘ Edom has taken vengeance against the house of Judah; they have made themselves fully culpable by taking vengeance on them.
