愛友乎、勿伸己冤、寧禁止爾怒、寧禁止爾怒或作人忿怒寧聽之經載主曰、伸冤在我、我必報應、又云、

人以橫逆相加、望我兄弟無思自為報復、靜候天討可也。主不云乎、『報復乃吾之事也；賞善罰惡、有吾在焉。』

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:“ It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

My dear friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back,”( Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,“ Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“ I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.

For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people.

Don’t say,“ I’ll do to him what he did to me; I’ll repay the man for what he has done.”

Don’t say,“ I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the Lord, and He will rescue you.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.

Do not take revenge or bear a grudge against members of your community, but love your neighbor as yourself; I am Yahweh.

But I tell you, don’t resist an evildoer. On the contrary, if anyone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

This means one must not transgress against and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger of all these offenses, as we also previously told and warned you.

Rejoice, you nations, concerning His people, for He will avenge the blood of His servants. He will take vengeance on His adversaries; He will purify His land and His people.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.

“ But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.If anyone hits you on the cheek, offer the other also. And if anyone takes away your coat, don’t hold back your shirt either.

Don’t gloat when your enemy falls, and don’t let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,or the Lord will see, be displeased, and turn His wrath away from him.Don’t be agitated by evildoers, and don’t envy the wicked.

Your discernment is blessed, and you are blessed. Today you kept me from participating in bloodshed and avenging myself by my own hand.

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is fierce in wrath. The Lord takes vengeance against His foes; He is furious with His enemies.The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will never leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.

Lord, God of vengeance— God of vengeance, appear.Rise up, Judge of the earth; repay the proud what they deserve.Lord, how long will the wicked— how long will the wicked gloat?

Now my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, it is the Lord who kept you from participating in bloodshed and avenging yourself by your own hand. May your enemies and those who want trouble for my lord be like Nabal.
