How did God answer him? God said,“ I have kept 7,000 people for myself. They have not bowed down to Baal.”( 1 Kings 19:18)

默示何也、曰、我遺七千人、未嘗曲跽巴力、

天主何以應之、曰、我為己遺七千人、未屈膝於巴勒者、

主何以應之？曰：『吾尚為己保留七千人、皆未曾屈膝於巴耳者也。』

And what was God’s answer to him?“ I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

But what is God’s reply to him?“ I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

And do you remember God’s reply? He said,“ No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal!”

But what was God’s answer to him? I have left seven thousand for myself who have not bowed down to Baal.

But what is the divine response to him?“ I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

But what does the divine response say to him?“ I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

But what was God’s reply to him? I have left 7,000 men for Myself who have not bowed down to Baal.

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to[ the image of] Baal.

But what was the divine response to him?“ I have kept for myself seven thousand people who have not bent the knee to Baal.”

But how does God answer him?“ I have reserved for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

But I will keep 7,000 people in Israel for myself. They have not bowed down to Baal. And they have not kissed him.”

When the tribe of Ephraim spoke, the other tribes trembled with fear. Ephraim was honored in Israel. But its people sinned by worshiping Baal. So they were as good as dead.

She wouldn’t admit that I was the one who gave her everything she had. I provided her with grain, olive oil and fresh wine. I gave her plenty of silver and gold. But she used it to make statues of Baal.

Your own eyes saw what the Lord your God did at Baal Peor. He destroyed every one of your people who worshiped the Baal that was worshiped at Peor.

They have built the high places where they worship Baal. There they sacrifice their children in the fire as offerings to Baal. That is something I did not command or talk about. It did not even enter my mind.

Send for all of Baal’s prophets. Also send for all his priests and the others who serve him. Make sure that not a single one is missing. I’m going to hold a great sacrifice to honor Baal. Anyone who doesn’t come will be killed.” But Jehu was lying to them. He was planning to destroy everyone who served Baal.Jehu said,“ Call everyone together to honor Baal.” So they did.

He thought it was only a small thing to commit the sins Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had committed. Ahab also married Jezebel. She was Ethbaal’s daughter. Ethbaal was king of the people of Sidon. Ahab began to serve the god named Baal and worship him.

because they deserted him. They served Baal. They also served female gods that were named Ashtoreth.

“ I will reach out my powerful hand against Judah. I will punish all those who live in Jerusalem. I will destroy from this place what is left of Baal worship. The priests who serve other gods will be removed.

So Israel joined in worshiping the god named Baal that was worshiped at Peor. The Lord became very angry with Israel.
