天主未棄其所預知之民、爾豈不知經所載論以利亞乎、其訟以色列人籲天主曰、

是天主固未曾棄絕其所預識之子民。抑爾未知經中所載伊理藹向天主控訴義塞之言乎？

God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he appealed to God against Israel:

Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John( although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples),he left Judea and departed again for Galilee.

Hear me, O Lord, and listen to the voice of my adversaries.Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for my life. Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them.Therefore deliver up their children to famine; give them over to the power of the sword; let their wives become childless and widowed. May their men meet death by pestilence, their youths be struck down by the sword in battle.May a cry be heard from their houses, when you bring the plunderer suddenly upon them! Many years you bore with them and warned them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not give ear. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

Joseph said to them,“ What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that a man like me can indeed practice divination?”

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?

If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.
