蓋不識上帝之義、而求立己之義、故不服上帝之義也、

其不識上帝稱義之道、惟一已行義是賴、不服上帝稱義之道、

蓋彼不識天主之義、而欲立己之義、故未服天主之義、

蓋既昧於天主之義、故惟求自立其義、而不服膺天主之義矣。

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

They didn’t know that God’s power makes people right with himself. They tried to get right with God in their own way. They didn’t do it in God’s way.

For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.

Since they are ignorant of the righteousness of God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God’s righteousness.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Because they disregarded the righteousness from God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to God’s righteousness.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

And He said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts; because that which is highly esteemed among people is detestable in the sight of God.

and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,

Because you say,“ I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,” and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Now He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:“ Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.The Pharisee stood and began praying this in regard to himself:‘ God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, crooked, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written:“ But the righteous one will live by faith.”

But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, And they will not benefit you.

I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies— or if their uncircumcised heart is humbled so that they then make amends for their wrongdoing,

For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

For the moth will eat them like a garment; Yes, the moth will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation to all generations.”

but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction,

For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away.

This is what the Lord says:“ Guard justice and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come And My righteousness to be revealed.

For Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; God, who is like You?

However, You are righteous in everything that has happened to us; For You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly.

The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail.

He will sing to people and say,‘ I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.

regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me;and regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me;

Simon Peter, a bond servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith;however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law.Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though they could by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,

for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.And the son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“ Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the wrongdoing, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

Raise your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in the same way. But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not fail.

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the art of writing.I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord God; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.

And I testify again to every man who has himself circumcised, that he is obligated to keep the whole Law.You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace.

Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders, our fathers, and all the people of the land.“ Righteousness belongs to You, Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.Open shame belongs to us, Lord, to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against Him;

“ Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely And do justice and righteousness in the land.In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will live securely; And this is His name by which He will be called,‘ The Lord Our Righteousness.’
