But as for Israel, He says,“ I have spread out My hands all day long to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

其言言或作語以色列、則曰、我終日伸手、招不信服而違逆之民、

而於義塞人則曰：『我終日舉手以招斯民、而斯民頑強、不肯回頭。』

But concerning Israel he says,“ All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.”

But Isaiah also speaks about what God says concerning Israel. God said,“ All day long I have held out my hands. I have held them out to a stubborn people who do not obey me.”( Isaiah 65:2)

But of Israel he says,“ All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

But regarding Israel, God said,“ All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.”

But to Israel he says, All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

But to Israel he says:“ All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people.”

But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

But to Israel he says: All day long I have spread out My hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

But about Israel he says,“ All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!”

But about Israel he says,“ All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,A people who continually provoke Me to My face, Offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on bricks;Who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places; Who eat pig’s flesh, And the broth of unclean meat is in their pots.Who say,‘ Keep to yourself, do not come near me, For I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, A fire that burns all the day.

Also I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them again and again, saying:‘ Turn now every person from his evil way and amend your deeds, and do not follow other gods to worship them. Then you will live in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me.

“ For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace;and to those he said,‘ You go into the vineyard also, and whatever is right, I will give you.’ And so they went.Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing.And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he* said to them,‘ Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’They* said to him,‘ Because no one hired us.’ He* said to them,‘ You go into the vineyard too.’“ Now when evening came, the owner of the vineyard* said to his foreman,‘ Call the laborers and pay them their wages, starting with the last group to the first.’When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius.And so when those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner,saying,‘ These who were hired last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day’s work and the scorching heat.’But he answered and said to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?Take what is yours and go; but I want to give to this last person the same as to you.Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’

hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved; with the result that they always reach the limit of their sins. But wrath has come upon them fully.

For I know your rebellion and your stubbornness; behold, as long as I have been alive with you until today, you have been rebellious against the Lord; how much more, then, after my death?

Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention;

And the Lord said to Samuel,“ Listen to the voice of the people regarding all that they say to you, because they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being King over them.Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day— in that they have abandoned Me and served other gods— so they are doing to you as well.

“ Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it, and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and he leased it to vine growers and went on a journey.And when the harvest time approached, he sent his slaves to the vine growers to receive his fruit.And the vine growers took his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.Again, he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they did the same things to them.But afterward he sent his son to them, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But when the vine growers saw the son, they said among themselves,‘ This is the heir; come, let’s kill him and take possession of his inheritance!’And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine growers?”They* said to Him,“ He will bring those wretches to a wretched end and lease the vineyard to other vine growers, who will pay him the fruit in the proper seasons.”Jesus* said to them,“ Did you never read in the Scriptures,‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said,“ It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first. Since you repudiate it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.For so the Lord has commanded us,‘ I have appointed You as a light to the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’ ”

“ But they became rebellious and revolted against You, And threw Your Law behind their backs And killed Your prophets who had admonished them In order to bring them back to You, And they committed great blasphemies.

and,“ A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this they were also appointed.

Yet I sent you all My servants the prophets again and again, saying,“ Oh, do not do this abominable thing which I hate.”But they did not listen or incline their ears to turn from their wickedness, so as not to burn sacrifices to other gods.Therefore My wrath and My anger gushed out and burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so they have become ruins and a desolation as it is this day.

And he sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.Again he sent other slaves, saying,‘ Tell those who have been invited,“ Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened cattle are all butchered and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!” ’But they paid no attention and went their separate ways, one to his own farm, another to his business,and the rest seized his slaves and treated them abusively, and then killed them.Now the king was angry, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.

The Lord also said to me,‘ I have seen this people, and indeed, it is a stubborn people.

“ You men who are stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, and you have now become betrayers and murderers of Him;

and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

And the Lord has sent to you all His servants the prophets again and again, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear,

“ Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,so that upon you will fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.
